Big Pinay's Journals and Diaries

Since Grade school, I have always liked writing stuff. Ever since my teacher told us to write in our diaries to talk about anything under the sun, I have always loved writing about things that is or did happened in that specific day.

So I want to share to all of you how I did mine, and I also want to share all of the notebooks/diaries/blog berries/journals and planners I’ve owned over the past years.

Here are some of them;

Year 2002 to 2015

YEAR 2002 to 2006

The brand of this notebook is "Morning Glory", I really don't know if they still have the brand, the usually have sitckers, stationaries, notepad and notebooks which were really cool. But the last time I went in Libya, I don't think they still have it there. I think it was phased-out. This was actually a birthday present from a very good friend of mine Marinelle Corpuz. She gave this to me in December 2002 and I loved the texture of the paper, you can easily write on it, I also like the soft baby blue color of the cover it goes very well with the light green and light blue color of the inside pages. When you write in it with a sign pen or any inked pen, it doesn't smudge so I really like that. I used this notebook from 2002 until 2006 coz I had a lot going on so it was like not continuous.

YEAR 2007

So I bought this in the Philippines at a National Bookstore. I love the silkiness of the paper, but it was hard to write on it coz i doesn't dry right away specially if you're using a gel pen. It was big, and thin, the portion of each day was a bit small, so sometimes i just attach a paper to continue my writings. I can easily bring it to school or work it really is quite handy specially that during that year I had a lot of big bags for books and folders for school.

YEAR 2008

So this was were I started giving in to the infamous Starbucks. I was all about saving up for things like gel pens, notebooks, accessories, make-up, lipsticks and etc. I was not into iced latte or mocha frap and stuff like that but of course you have friends and cousins who teases you so I gave in. Ofcourse all of you know that they had this promotion where you buy certain quantity of drinks and they give you a card where you have to collect stickers in order to claim your planner and obviously I did that. I collected I believe it was 15 of those stickers in November 2007, so that I could have my Starbucks planner which starts in the month of December. I like that leather cover of the planner, there was also a pen included but I lost that. I also like the eco-friendly theme of it and the wood color of it, the insides are also very nice, brown and green blended very well, I also like the 6 spring in the middle, you can open it up if ever you want to remove one page, there's also a few snippets at the very end where you can get additional free drinks from starbucks, well discounted prices. So I pretty much used this planner, everyday, I also bring it at school. What I don't like about it though is the fact that it easily gets dirty, coz at the back of the leather is like a rough texture which can easily get marks on it, it's also it a little heavy compared to other journals. So that's for 2008.

YEAR 2009

One of my favorite journals, everything about it is just awesome, it was one of the best years. I like the color, I don't might the weight of this thick notebook, I bought this in National Bookstore Philippines. It's an Executive Diary, The pages are easily to write on, there's a huge space to write on, I like the different blends of red, maroon, light pink, peach and etc, its so girly yet it looks professional. I wrote almost everyday, long writings every single day. I also like how everyday you get to see different quotes which can inspire you, you can also see if there's like a special event or occasion on that specific date, that also shows on the starbucks planner, you can also see monthly calendar on each page, which for me is very convenient.

YEAR 2010

I wasn't really active in 2010. I was going through this journal, there wasn't much. I just saw some of my recipes and song lyrics, most of the notes were shortened, it's like I was always in a hurry. This was also bought from National Bookstore, I like the cover, this was like an address book but in a bigger version, the pages had a little space to write on on each dates, if you're in a hurry and you just wanted to write somethings important, this was the perfect planner for you. This also had a lot of contact details, emails and addresses of my friends, relatives and etc,(planning on calling them and check if numbers are still active.. *prank calls* lol)

YEAR 2011

So for the Year 2011 another of my Starbucks Planner took invasion of my life. This I did not collect any drinks, I only bought this from my officemate Ate Daena, she sold it for P1,300.00, which was ok instead of buying drinks of 20 and its more than the amount that I paid for. So I like this better that the last time I collected. I prefer this more coz its thinner and it's more convenient. I like the color, I am fond of Red and colorful things, so this was very nice.

YEAR 2012

This was the first for me I saw this when I was browsing for the most liked brand of journals/diaries there is for 2012, so I came across this one. Its a blogberry for people who loves food, which happens to be MOI! The space is enough specially when you're already working and who just have a few minutes to just run through things that happened to you on that specific day, this was where I also write down the things that I want to blog about, random thoughts on what to post on my blog, I started out a food blog, The FAT GIRL's Food Obession.

YEAR 2013

This this are some of my favorite journals as well, why? Because I made them myself. I cut-out pictures in some of our old magazines and also snippets of phrases and sayings where I could easily paste it on the covers and ofcourse the pages of the notebook. This is just a simple notebook, which has a simple cover plain silver, I bought it in a regular bookstore in Libya. (Yes I was in abroad during 2012-2013) So there are really no decent journals or diaries in Libya, if you want one then you better create your own, so that is what I did. I printed pictures, quotes and etc just to bring a regular notebook to life. Which I was very excited to write on. I was very happy.

YEAR 2014

I have heard a lot about this Power Planner for young women. Belle de Jour (n. bel duh zhoor'): French fashion lingo for I.T. Girlthe modern-day renaissance woman who dares to achieveher goals, lives her dream life, makes a difference in her community, and does everything in great style. The planner was designed to helpe mpower Filipinas to try, to dare, to experience, to achieve and to live! I guess I needed that, reason behind why I bought one. HA! I like the prints of the planner, quotes, your goals, there's also a few activities you need to do in a daily basis, there's also a couple of vouchers where you can use to claim in different restaurants and malls or etc. Like to cover, as well, its not that heavy, there's also a pocket sleeve at the back, each page has the color of pink, purple and green, which is pretty, space for writing is brilliant. I also like that they provided space for important notes or reminders or you can put in stickers and washie tapes.

YEAR 2015

So this is another of my favorite journals I own, I got this from Fully Booked and it is called FILED. This is more of doodle. I like the black and white coz then I get to color it out. So awesome, when I saw this I just had to buy it. Loved it. there's also like a prepared clock to know what time you wrote that day. there's also like tiny flowcharts where you can put in important stuff. There's also different things or activities you can do in a daily basis. I like the texture of the paper. There's also a couple of folds where you can write in, like monthly plan. There are also pages where you need to remember things, doodle drawing and etc. LOVE THIS!

So there you have it. My share of different journals and diaries over the past years. Hope you like it and enjoy, hopefully you could start your own. Coz to be honest I read through some of the pages I worte in these things and I remember those special moments when I was with my family, my love ones, relatives, friends, particular someone or special someone and its good reading through them again.
